Question Time with Phil
Enjoy a unique opportunity to share 90 minutes with driving and instructor training specialist, Phil Hirst.
Introduction
Phil’s Question Time sessions, run every fortnight from mid-January 2026, and are designed to give a practical insight into the art of driving instruction and instructor training.
Each session will be “open” with no particular theme; rather a chance to tap into the experience of an ORDIT trainer who has spent over 30 years helping trainees in the driver training profession and continuously learning from it.

Who would Benefit?
Question Time sessions are aimed at anyone, PDIs, ADIs, ADI Trainers regardless of ability and experience.
Feel free to leave a question in the “comments” box when booking your place. Phil will answer as many as possible but he’s keen to engage with you directly on the evening.
Topics for Discussion
Phil’s experience as a coach is wide-ranging, including:
- Driver and PDI training
- Training new ADI Trainers
- Coaching skills (Q&A, feedback etc.)
- Standards Check preparation
- Police-referred driver courses
Improving training delivery is the key. Please note, sessions won’t be used to voice political views about the current state of the driver training industry.
When does it Start?
Question Time with Phil sessions will be run on Zoom from 6.00 – 8.00pm starting on Monday 19 January ’26 and fortnightly thereafter.
